Stupidity never has the presence of mind to seek clarification. It never occurs to stupidity that it doesn’t understand what someone said or wrote. How it feels is more important than what you meant. Its righteous indignation is everything. The truth is nothing.

A group of Southwest Portland residents decided they were tired of neighborhood potholes and hired a contractor to fix the problem. But the city might now charge those residents to bring those unpermitted repairs up to code.
